SHERIFF'S OFFICE SEEKING SUSPECT IN HOMICIDE

Lane Co. Sheriff's Office In June, a deceased female was located in the Cottage Grove area who appeared to be the victim of homicide. Lane County Sheriff’s detectives identified the victim as a missing person, Rozaleena Faith Rasmussen, 29, from Cottage Grove.  Detectives identified the suspect as Anthony Wesley Tyrrell, 31, of Cottage Grove.  A nationwide warrant has been issued for his arrest. Tyrrell is described as a white male adult with brown hair, brown eyes, weighing approximately 165 pounds and standing approximately 5’9” tall. He was last seen with his head shaved and wearing a white shirt, black trench coat, black pants, and black boots.  Tyrrell is considered armed and dangerous.  Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call 911 and avoid approaching or contacting him.                    Click Here To Download Our App

Missing Teenager Found Dead

Independence Oregon Police Department (Independence, Oregon) — The teenager who disappeared under the water in the Willamette River has been found dead in Keizer Rapids Park. He has been identified as Gregorio Maximiano-Solano, 13, of California. Independence police detectives and the Polk County medical examiner were on scene at Keizer Rapids Park.  On Sunday, July 7, 2024, just after 5 PM, Gregorio disappeared under the water while playing in the Willamette River near Riverview Park. Soon after, Polk County Emergency responders and the US Coast Guard arrived and conducted water rescue efforts, including dive and flyover searches. Over 24 hours after the incident, emergency personnel transitioned the effort into a recovery process. Recovery Effort for Missing Teenager Transitions to Boat Patrol

Independence Police Department Independence, Oregon — After a multi-agency effort to search the area with dive teams where a teenager disappeared under the water on July 7, the recovery effort is now being done primarily through boat patrol along the Willamette River. Riverview Park is now open to the public.  On Sunday, at around 5:07 PM, a teenager disappeared under the water while playing in the Willamette River near Riverview Park. Soon after, Polk County Emergency responders and the US Coast Guard arrived and conducted water rescue efforts, including dive and flyover searches. CREWS EXTINGUISH FAST MOVING BRUSH FIRE IN WEST EUGENE

Eugene Springfield Fire Eugene, OR. Eugene Springfield Fire responded to a fast moving, wind driven grass fire near the railroad tracks off highway 99 and Fairfield in West Eugene Monday evening. At 6:22 PM on July 8th, fire crews responded with a mixture of fire engines and brush engines, stopping the fire before it reached neighboring businesses. The fire is under control and investigation.   Today was the first “red flag warning” of the 2024 fire season. Red Flag Warnings alert fire crews to conditions that may lead to especially dangerous wildfire growth. FATAL CRASH - HWY-101 - DOUGLAS COUNTY

Oregon State Police Douglas County, Ore. 6 July 24-  On Saturday, July 6, 2024, at 1:32 p.m., Oregon State Police responded to a motorcycle crash on Hwy-101, near milepost 207, in Douglas County. The preliminary investigation indicated a northbound Harley Davidson motorcycle, operated by Johnny Ray Boles (43) of Notus (ID), attempted to pass in between two northbound vehicles that were occupying both the A and B lanes of travel. The Harley Davidson lost control, left the roadway, and ejected the operator into a guardrail. The operator of the Harley Davidson (Boles) was declared deceased at the scene. The highway was not impacted during the on-scene investigation. The cause of the crash is believed to be unsafe passing. DOUGLAS COUNTY LANDFILL FIRE

Douglas Co. Fire Dist. No.2 At 4:16 p.m. late Sunday Afternoon, Central Douglas Fire & Rescue was dispatched to the  Douglas County Landfill for reports of a fire in the trash at the top of the landfill. Several  reports were called into the dispatch center about heavy smoke in the area above the disposal  and recycling center. Initial units arrived on the scene to find a working landfill fire. Access to the seat of the fire  was difficult due to the area that was burning. The burn was in the center of the landfill and  crews had to fight the fire from a distance to stay out of the garbage while avoiding the toxic  smoke being produced by the fire. CDF&R fire crews worked with landfill employees to  contain the fire and prevent the fire from extending to other areas of the landfill. Eugene Springfield Fire Eugene, OR.  Eugene Springfield Fire crews responded to a reported structure fire on Broadway West of Garfield on West Eugene Sunday morning.  Firefighters were called at 9:45 AM on July 7th to reports of a tent on fire spreading to a large warehouse.  Crews arrived in 4 minutes to find a tent burning next to a concrete building.  Crews quickly extinguished the fire and ensured it did not find a void to spread in to the building.  Several ESF crews were drilling at 2nd and Chambers at the time of the call which allowed for a large response quickly.                    Click Here To Download Our App

Myrtle Point man arrested after disturbance reported at a swimming hole near the intersection of Myrtle Creek and Rock Creek Road, near Bridge

Coos County Sheriff's Office On July 3 rd , 2024, at 5:25 p.m., the Coos County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received a 911 call of a disturbance in progress at a swimming hole on Rock Creek Road near Myrtle Creek Road. A deputy responded and spoke with several subjects at the scene.  During the investigation, it was learned the suspect, Zackariah M. Snead (30), pushed a man off a cliff at the location and fled from the scene in a vehicle. Another Deputy and an Officer from the Myrtle Point Police Department attempted to locate the car but did not find it.  The man who was pushed off the cliff was transported to the hospital by Myrtle Point Ambulance, and a second victim was identified during the investigation. Probable cause was issued for the arrest of Zackariah M. Snead (30) on two counts of assault in the second degree.  On July 5, 2024, at approximately 2:00 p.m., the Sheriff’s Office received information that Zackariah was at the Subway in Coquille. SHED FIRE RAPIDLY SPREADS TO MULTIPLE BUILDINGS AND THREATENS HOMES IN SWEET HOME

Sweet Home Fire Dist. Sweet Home Fire units responded to a report of a structure fire spreading into the trees. The fire was discovered by the home owner just before 6:30pm. He noticed an orange glow out of his window. He went outside to investigate and found his storage shed fully involved spreading into a stand of fir trees and towards multiple outbuildings on his property as well as the adjacent property. The first fire unit on scene was a brush truck, staffed by a seasonal grant from the Oregon State Fire Marshal's Office. It arrived 5 minutes after the 911 call was received, to find heavy fire consuming the shed and spreading rapidly to surrounding vegetation, trees, and exposure buildings. Those exposure buildings included two homes, 4 small outbuildings, and 1 storage trailer. All of those structures sustained fire damage. LANE COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE AND EUGENE SPRINGFIELD FIRE RESPOND TO MULTIPLE WATER RESCUES ON JULY 4TH

Lane Co. Sheriff's Office On July 4 th , Lane County Sheriff’s Search & Rescue and Marine Patrol Deputies, along with Eugene Springfield Fire, responded to multiple water rescues throughout the day. Several occurred around the same time, complicating the response. LCSO and ESF coordinated resources on several of the calls, assigning boats and vehicles that were closest to each. LINN COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE DETECTIVES ARREST SWEET HOME RESIDENT FOR ONLINE SEXUAL CORRUPTION

Linn County Sheriff's Office Linn County Sheriff Michelle Duncan reports on July 2, 2024, her detectives arrested Christopher Michael Douglass, 42, of Sweet Home, in connection to a Luring of a Minor investigation.  The investigation began in December of 2023 when the parents of a 15-year-old girl from Albany, reported to law enforcement that their child had been having sexual communications with a 42-year-old male over a four-month period.  The communications occurred over a social media application as well as personal text messages.  Investigators were able to determine the 15-year-old girl had been communicating with Douglass who was using a false name on the social media platform.  Investigators were also able to determine that the 15-year-old girl had sent sexually explicit images to Douglass at his request.  Douglass also offered to buy a bus ticket for the 15-year-old girl so they could meet in person and indicated he would purchase marijuana and nicotine products for her. 

FATAL CRASH - HWY 20 - LINCOLN COUNTY

Oregon State Police Lincoln County, Ore 1 July 24-  On Monday, July 1, 2024, at 6:35 p.m., Oregon State Police responded to a three-vehicle crash on Hwy-20, near milepost 30, in Lincoln County. The preliminary investigation indicated a westbound Toyota Rav4, operated by Jose Manuel Zapata (29) of Portland, attempted to pass a Dodge Ram 2500 with a trailer, operated by Raphael Francis Spielman (78) of Gaston, and struck and eastbound Acura TL, operated by Scott Thomas Novotny (34) of Newport. The collision caused all three vehicles to come to an uncontrolled rest along the highway. The operator of the Toyota (Zapata), who is not believed to be wearing a seatbelt, was declared deceased at the scene. The passenger in the Toyota, Joseph Mauricio Cruz (31) of Portland, was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries. DESCHUTES COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE REMIND PUBLIC OF FIRE DANGER

Deschutes County Sheriff's Office On June 30th, 2024, at 5:30 pm the Deschutes County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to assist the Redmond Fire & Rescue, Crooked River Ranch Fire Department, and the Jefferson County Fire Department with a debris burn pile which was no longer contained and was now spreading through a property in the 1500 block of NW Ice Ave in Terrebonne, Oregon. During this event it was approximately 80 degrees with strong winds pushing north to south. As the fire continued to spread to the south quickly, it approached another property which resulted in numerous structures being threatened. Several fire resources were able to contain the fire from spreading as the Deschutes County Sheriff's Office assisted with evacuations of nearby properties. Due to the quick response of the fire fighters on scene, the structures were saved from complete destruction. FIELD FIRE STARTED BY BURN PILE

Forest Grove Fire & Rescue Today at 12:43 pm, Forest Grove Firefighters were dispatched to a reported field fire in the 6600 block of NW Kansas City Road in rural Washington County. While crews were responding a column of smoke was observed in the distance, prompting the chief officer to upgrade the response to a full first alarm assignment. 10 minutes after being dispatched, fire crews arrived on scene to find a cut crimson clover field with two areas burning. Firefighters utilized 4 wheel drive apparatus to drive around the perimeter of the fire and extinguish the flames. It took firefighters approximately 10 minutes to extinguish the flames, and additional time spent looking for hot spots. Due to the quick stop of the flames, incident command was able to cancel additional responding resources. Firefighters were successful in keeping the flames from spreading to unprocessed crop still laid out in a portion of the field. It was found that the field caught fire by a neighbor burnin

Eugene Springfield Fire Eugene, OR.  Eugene Springfield Fire is actively engaged in fighting a brush fire on North Game Farm Rd. Crews were initially called at 5:35 PM on July 2nd to reports of smoke and fire from an area homeless encampment off N Game Farm Rd.  Firefighters arrived to find a 1/2 acre wind driven fire and are actively working to extinguish the fire.  Coburg Fire District is providing mutual aid support.  Motorists are asked to avoid the area of N Game Farm during the response.                   Click Here To Download Our App

FIREFIGHTERS RESPOND TO SKINNER BUTTE BRUSH FIRE

Eugene Springfield Fire Eugene, OR.  Eugene Springfield Fire responded to a brush fire at the top of Skinner Butte in Eugene early Tuesday morning.  Firefighters were called to a fire on the butte at 12:15 AM on July 2nd.  Witness statements indicate fireworks may have been the cause.  Firefighters worked quickly to contain the fire estimated at half an acre.  It took 2 hours to fully extinguish hot spots.  There were no injuries reported.                  Click Here To Download Our App

Driver Facing Felony Assault Charges After Crashing Into Motorcyclist

Portland Police Bureau   A driver is facing felony assault and other charges after crashing into a motorcyclist on the Sunset Highway. On Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at 3:05p.m., Portland Police officers assigned to Central Precinct were dispatched to a report of a crash involving a car and a motorcycle on eastbound Highway 26 at the Southwest Sylvan Road overpass. When they arrived, they encountered an overturned 2006 Subaru Legacy Outback and a downed 2016 Yamaha motorcycle (photo). The motorcycle rider was seriously injured and was transported to the hospital by ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries. The Subaru driver, David J. Bumgardner, 60, of Beaverton, Oregon, did not report himself to be injured. Members of the PPB Traffic Division and the Major Crimes Team responded to investigate the crash. Preliminary investigation revealed that the motorcycle rider was lane splitting (riding between lanes), which is not legal in Oregon. Bumgardner believed that the motorcycle hit his c
