Sex Abuse Suspect Arrested, Detectives Seeking Additional Victims

Jackson Co. Sheriff's Office   MEDFORD, Ore. – After a month-long investigation, Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) Special Victims Unit (SVU) detectives arrested a 20-year-old Medford man today for multiple counts of sex abuse of an underage victim. Detectives believe there are additional local victims who have yet to come forward.   Detectives arrested the suspect, Brayden Cyrus Edelman, 20, today at 11:30 a.m. in Medford. He is charged with one count of first-degree sex abuse, and two counts of second-degree sex abuse. Detectives booked and lodged him in the Jackson County Jail.   The JCSO investigation into Edelman started mid-May of this year. Although Edelman lives in Medford, the crimes occurred in White City. JCSO SVU detectives believe Edelman may have other victims. Sheriff's Office ROSEBURG, Ore.  - The Douglas County Sheriff's Office is seeking information regarding damage to the disc golf baskets at Whistlers Bend County Park.  On Friday, June 14, 2024, the Sheriff's Office was advised of criminal damage to three new disc golf baskets at Whistlers Park. The damages are estimated to be just under $1,500.00.  A group within the community is offering and administering a $1,000 reward for the person who provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the individual(s) responsible.  The Sheriff's Office is asking anyone who may have knowledge about the damage to contact deputies at (541) 440-4471 referencing Case #24-2418.                 Click Here To Download Our App

Roseburg Police Dept. On June 19, 2024, at approximately 11:30 AM, the Roseburg Police Department responded to an address in the 1100 block of SE Pine to conduct a welfare check on 77 year old Samuel Steven Smeth.  Smeth was found deceased in his residence.  Next of kin has been notified.   Roseburg Police detectives, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office detectives, and Oregon State Police responded to assist and will continue to investigate the matter with assistance from the Douglas County District Attorney’s Office. FATAL CRASH - HWY 86 - BAKER COUNTY

Oregon State Police Baker County, Ore. 14 June 24-  On Friday, June 14, 2024, at 9:55 a.m., Oregon State Police responded to a single motorcycle crash on Hwy-86, near milepost 30, in Baker County. The preliminary investigation indicated an eastbound Harley Davidson motorcycle, operated by Scott Douglas Moss (66) of Boise (ID), failed to negotiate a left-hand turn and left the roadway. The Harley traveled approximately 100 feet along the shoulder and 30 feet down an embankment, ejecting both operator and passenger. The motorcycle came to rest partially on top of the operator.  The passenger on the Harley, Joan Gayle Moss (68) of Boise (ID), was declared deceased at the scene. The operator of the Harley (S. Moss) was life-flighted due to injuries. The highway was not impacted during the on-scene investigation. FATAL CRASH - HWY 58 - LANE COUNTY

Oregon State Police Lane County, Ore. 15 June 24-  On Saturday, June 15, 2024, at 3:08 p.m., Oregon State Police responded to a single-vehicle crash on Hwy 58, near milepost 46, in Lane County. The preliminary investigation indicated an eastbound Ford F-350, operated by Will Ed Bryson Jr. (77) of Klamath Falls, left the roadway for unknown reasons and struck a tree.  The operator of the Ford (W. Bryson) was declared deceased while in transport to an area hospital. The passenger of the Ford, Lynda Ellen Bryson (78) of Klamath Falls, was transported by ground ambulance and life-flighted to an area hospital. FIRE EXTINGUISHED NEAR THE RAILROAD TRACKS IN WEST EUGENE

Eugene Springfield Fire Eugene, OR.  Eugene Springfield Fire responded to a fire at camp site along the railroad tracks in the 2600 block of Rosevelt Blvd.  Fire crews were notified of the fire at 1:16 PM on June 18th and Engine 7 from the Bethel station arrived 4 minutes later.  Some personal belongings were destroyed in the fire, but there were no injuries and the fire is under investigation.                    Click Here To Download Our App

Salem Police Department Yesterday, Salem Police Felony Crimes Unit detectives arrested another juvenile in the animal abuse case.  A 15-year-old boy was taken into custody at his residence in northeast Salem on the following charges: Aggravated animal abuse, first-degree Tampering with evidence Interfering with a peace officer The juvenile was transported to the  Marion County Juvenile Department . ANIMAL NEGLECT SUSPECT SENTENCED TO 4 YEARS IN PRISON, 3 YEARS POST-PRISON SUPERVISION IN LANE COUNTY, CONCURRENT SENTENCE IN LINN COUNTY

Lane Co. Sheriff's Office In 2020, Creswell area resident Raina Ott entered into a deferred sentencing agreement related to neglect of horses. In January 2023, she was found to have violated the agreement. Ott was convicted, given a 45-day jail sentence, and was put on probation. She was prohibited from any dealings or contact with animals. Between April 2023 and January 2024, Ott committed a series of probation violations and crimes. Ott purchased nearly 100 head of cattle at livestock auctions in Linn and Lane County using fake names, then sold them via social media. The check used to finalize one purchase bounced. The cows were not returned, nor was the balance paid. In a separate case, Ott switched price tags on items she then purchased at an animal care supply store in Eugene. The total loss to the store was just under $1,000. FATAL MOTOR VEHICLE CRASH - REEVES CREEK RD

Josephine Co. Sheriff's Office On June 11th, 2024, at 3:08pm, the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a motor vehicle crash in the 4600 block of Reeves Creek Road. Prior to law enforcement arrival, the driver, Paige Collyar, and passenger, Shannon Hewitt, were pronounced deceased by medical personnel. Evidence at the scene indicated the vehicle was traveling north on Reeves Creek Road at a high rate of speed when it failed to negotiate a curve and left the roadway striking a tree.  Next of kin have been notified. Gresham Police Dept UPDATE -  Gresham, Ore.—Missing 23-year-old, Brendan Bolsinger was located yesterday and returned home. Brendan left his home in the 1000 block of NE 193 Ave., shortly after 3:00 p.m. He was located in Portland by a TriMet employee near SW 5 Ave. and SW Yamhill St. Gresham Police thanks everyone who shared Brendan’s photograph and helped find him so he could be safely returned home. Gresham, Ore.—Gresham Police is asking for the public’s assistance with locating a missing 23-year-old male, Brendan Bolsinger. Brendan left his home in the 1000 block of NE 193 Ave., shortly after 3:00 p.m. Brendan’s family says he is on the autism spectrum and non-verbal. FATAL TRAFFIC CRASH

Roseburg Police Dept. On June 11, 2024 at approximately 8:40 AM, the Roseburg Police Department and emergency personnel responded to the report of a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of S.E. Pine Street and S.E. Oak Street in Roseburg, OR. Preliminary investigation indicated a 2019 Ford F-550, operated by Bowan Middlesworth (20) of Azalea, was traveling eastbound on S.E. Oak Street through a red light when a 2012 Toyota Prius, operated by Gene Manor (69) of Roseburg, struck the side of the F-550 near the rear axle. Manor was declared deceased at the scene.  The passenger of the Toyota Prius, Christopher Ronan (57) of Roseburg, suffered a broken arm.  Neither occupant appeared to be wearing their seatbelts. The operator of the F-550, Middlesworth, was not injured. UPDATE: SUSPECT SHOOTING AT CITY-OWNED PROPERTY ARRESTED

Portland Police Bureau The man who has been shooting a firearm at city-owned property is in custody after several additional shootings. On Monday, June 10, 2024, at 1:14 p.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting in the area of Northeast Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Northeast Oregon Street. When officers arrived, they determined a man driving a dark-colored sedan stopped his vehicle and fired shots at city-owned property before driving away. A short time later, similar shootings were reported along Southeast Stark Street at Southeast 122nd Avenue and Southeast 148th Avenue. Officers canvassed the area and located the suspect vehicle near Southeast 148th Avenue and Southeast Division Street. The suspect was taken into custody without incident. The suspect has been identified as Chase P. Grijalva, 28, of Portland. He will be booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center on gun and vandalism charges. PURSUIT OF STOLEN SEMI-TRACTOR ENDS WITH ARREST

Multnomah Co. Sheriff's Office Multnomah County sheriff’s deputies arrested a man Monday morning after he rammed patrol cars and led deputies on a pursuit in a stolen semi-tractor. Interstate 205 was closed in both directions between Mill Plain Blvd. and State Route 500 for more than an hour. Around 9 a.m., the owner of the semi called 911 to report that they were tracking the vehicle in Southeast Portland. The semi was described as a red, 2022 International cab over. It was not pulling a trailer. It is owned by Knight Transportation. About a half an hour later, the owner reported the semi was in the area of NE Marine Drive and NE Interlachen Lane in Fairview. Around 9:45 a.m., deputies located the stolen semi parked at Blue Lake Park. When deputies attempted to box-in the semi, the driver rammed a patrol vehicle, forcibly pushing the vehicle backward into another patrol vehicle.
