YAMHILL COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE CONTINUES UNRELATED SHOOTING INVESTIGATIONS

Yamhill Co. Sheriff's Office The Yamhill County Sheriff’s Office is continuing the investigations into two unrelated shooting incidents in Yamhill County.  The first incident, occurring yesterday afternoon on NW Russell Creek Road in rural Yamhill, is still an active investigation by the Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit (SIU).    The victim in the case is a 16-year-old from Polk County, OR.  Investigators have yet to find any connection to Yamhill County, and personnel from the Yamhill County District Attorney’s Office Crime Victim Advocate’s office are working with the family of the victim.  The victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds, with one of those wounds being fatal.   Based on the age of the victim, and the need to preserve viable investigative leads, the identity of the victim is being withheld at this time.  Detectives are working those leads and when we are able, additional information will be released. FATAL CRASH - HWY 99 - JACKSON COUNTY

Oregon State Police On Saturday, November 25, 2023, at 2:39 p.m., the Oregon State Police responded to a vehicle versus motorcycle crash on Hwy 99, at the intersection with Elk St, in Jackson County.   The preliminary investigation indicated a Hyundai Elantra, operated by Melissa Dolmage (38) of Medford, was stopped on Oak St, at the intersection with Hwy 99, when it turned left onto Hwy 99 southbound. The Hyundai entered the path of a northbound Harley Davidson motorcycle, operated by Kevin L. Norman (69) of Central Point, causing a side impact collision.   The operator of the Harley Davidson (Norman) was declared deceased at the scene.   The operator of the Hyundai (Dolmage) and passenger, a male infant, were not injured.   The highway was impacted for approximately 2.5 hours during the on-scene investigation. The operator of the Hyundai was cooperating with investigators.   OSP was assisted by the Central Point Police Department, the Medford Police Department, and ODOT.             

ARREST MADE DURING TRAFFIC STOP FOR DRUG POSSESSION AND WARRANTS

Washington Co. Sheriff's Office On Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at 4:02 a.m., Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies conducting traffic speed enforcement on Interstate 5 near Highway 217 stopped a BMW X7 going 89 mph in a 55-mph speed zone. The driver, 37-year-old Erin Rae Shaw, was arrested after giving deputies false information about her identity. Shaw later revealed her correct name, and deputies learned she had several outstanding warrants, including a felony warrant in Washington County for weapons charges and a felony warrant from the Oregon State Parole Board for identity theft.  Shaw's passenger, 39-year-old Shawn Seig, was also arrested on an outstanding parole violation warrant. During the investigation, deputies found methamphetamine in the vehicle as well as multiple laptops, thumb drives, and credit cards not belonging to Shaw or Seig. PPB SEEKS PUBLIC'S HELP LOCATING MISSING ENDANGERED WOMAN

Portland Police Bureau The Portland Police Bureau’s Missing Persons Unit is looking for a missing endangered woman and anyone who sees her is asked to contact PPB. Wilma Acosta, 28, was last seen leaving a bar near the corner of Northwest Couch Street and Northwest 3rd Avenue in the early morning hours of November 26, 2023. Acosta’s cell phone was tracked to the Japanese American Historical Plaza on the west side of the Willamette River, but Acosta was not located in the area. Acosta has reportedly had suicidal ideations in the past and a history of depression. Acosta is a Latina, 5’5 to 5’6 tall, 150 lbs, and she was last seen wearing a black lace shirt, black coat, black pants, and black boots. Acosta has several tattoos on her body and three piercings on her bottom lip. SINGLE VEHICLE TRAFFIC CRASH CLAIMS LIFE OF SUTHERLIN WOMAN

Douglas Co. Sheriff's Office OAKLAND, Ore.  - A Sutherlin woman died in a single vehicle traffic crash on Saturday. On Saturday, November 25, 2023, shortly before 11:00 pm, 9-1-1 dispatchers received a report of an injury traffic crash in the 15000-block of Highway 99N near Oakland. Upon arrival, deputies determined the driver of the 2012 Dodge Journey had been traveling south on Highway 99 before the vehicle left the roadway and crashed into a culvert. The driver was identified as 52-year-old Jennifer Ann Levy of Sutherlin. Despite lifesaving efforts, Levy, who was unrestrained in the vehicle, was declared deceased at the scene. Alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor in the crash. The Sheriff's Office was assisted at the scene by the Sutherlin Police Department, Oakland Rural Fire District, Umpqua Valley Ambulance and Roseburg Towing.            Click Here To Download Our App

HOMICIDE SUSPECT AT LARGE, DETECTIVES RENEW REQUEST FOR INFORMATION

Douglas Co. Sheriff's Office RIDDLE, Ore.  - Detectives are renewing their request for information as to the whereabouts of a homicide suspect who killed A Grants Pass man last Monday. Gauge Douglas James Main of Riddle is wanted in connection to the homicide of 20-year-old Devonte Lovell Clark of Grant Pass. A felony warrant has been issued for his arrest. Main was last known to be in the Northern California area following the homicide. On Monday, November 20, 2023, shortly after 11:30 p.m., 9-1-1 dispatchers received information about a shooting which had taken place in the area of Main Street / E. Third Avenue in Riddle, Oregon. Deputies arrived on scene to discover Clark had died at the scene. A second victim, 29-year-old Killian Mavity of Grants Pass, sustained a gunshot wound to the arm. POLICE SEARCHING FOR HIT-AND-RUN SUSPECT AND VEHICLE

Gresham Police Dept Gresham, Ore.—Gresham Police are searching for the suspect and vehicle involved in a hit-and-run collision that seriously injured a 72-year-old pedestrian. Officers responded to a collision involving a vehicle and pedestrian at SE Stark St. and 192 Ave., shortly after 6:00 p.m., on Nov. 24. Witnesses reported that the vehicle fled northbound on 192 Ave. at a high rate of speed. Officers and medical personnel tended to the victim, who had been thrown nearly 70 feet from the impact of the crash. The victim was transported to an area trauma hospital where he remains in critical condition. Additionally, responding officers searched for the suspect vehicle but were not successful in those efforts. East Metro Vehicular Crimes Team members are investigating the crash. JEREMY CHRISTOPHER YANDLE SENTENCED TO 175 MONTHS IN PRISON IN SEXUAL ABUSE CASE

District Attorney's Office HILLSBORO, Ore- On November 20, 2023, Washington County Circuit Court Judge Eric Butterfield sentenced Jeremy Christopher Yandle, age 45, to 175 months in prison. This sentence comes after the defendant was convicted of four counts of Sexual Abuse in the First Degree. Deputy District Attorney Rayney Meisel prosecuted the case against Mr. Yandle.  In August of 2021, the defendant was released from prison after serving a sentence for convictions in Multnomah County for Arson in the First Degree and Manufacturing a Destructive Device. The mother of the two young victims allowed the defendant, whom she had previously known, to move into their home so she could help him get back on his feet. While living in the home, Mr. Yandle, who was already a registered sex offender from a previous conviction, molested two minor children multiple times over several months.  Once the girls reported the abuse the defendant fled the home. Redmond Fire & Rescue Responds to Structure Fire

Redmond Fire & Rescue   November 27, 2023-REDMOND, OR- On Friday November 24 at approximately 9am, Redmond Fire & Rescue was notified of a possible structure fire in the 6200 block of SW Harvest Ave. First arriving fire crews arrived to a manufactured home with heavy fire through the roof. Due to the amount of fire, fire crews aggressively fought the fire from the exterior. Because the home was located in an area where fire hydrants are not available, water tenders shuttled in water. There was no one home at the time of the fire and no pets were inside. The homeowners were assisted by the Red Cross. Fire investigators determined that the cause of the fire was due to unattended cooking. The estimated loss to the structure is approximately $500,000.   Never leave cooking food unattended .  If you must leave the kitchen, even for a short period of time, turn off the stove. FATAL CRASH - HWY 36 - LANE COUNTY

Oregon State Police On Sunday, November 26, 2023, at 12:15 p.m., the Oregon State Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on Hwy 36, near milepost 1, in Lane County.   The preliminary investigation indicated a westbound Ford Explorer, operated by Benjamin William Beecher (72) of Florence, crossed the centerline of an icy curve into the eastbound lane and struck a Honda Civic, operated by Jeffrey Wayne Varga (18) of North Bend.  The Ford became airborne and came to rest, fully submerged, in the Siuslaw River.     The operator of the Ford (Beecher) was declared deceased at the scene by Lane County Search and Rescue, who responded with a dive team to assist with the submerged vehicle.   The operator of the Honda (Jeffrey Varga) and passenger, Geneva Mae Varga (21) of North Bend, were transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.   The highway was impacted for approximately 5 hours during the on-scene investigation.   OSP was assisted by the Lane County Sheriff's Office, Siusl

ONE TRANSPORTED FOLLOWING FIERY CRASH

Eugene Springfield Fire One was person transported by ambulance following an early morning car accident on Eastbound Beltline at the Hwy 99 exit in Eugene Monday morning.  Eugene Spring field Fire responded to a reported rollover accident on Beltline near the Hwy 99 exit at 5:09 AM.  Crews arrived to find the vehicle on its roof and on fire.  The fire was quickly extinguished and one person was transported to Riverbend ER with non-life threatening injuries.  We urge caution on your morning commute as freezing temperatures make for slippery roads, especially over bridges and overpasses.                  Click Here To Download Our App

FATAL TRAFFIC CRASH BETWEEN A MOTORCYCLE AND A SCHOOL BUS

Washington Co. Sheriff's Office On Monday, November 27, 2023, at 7:18 a.m., Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a traffic crash near the intersection of SW 65 th  Avenue and SW Prosperity Park Road involving a motorcycle and a school bus.  The motorcycle rider did not survive. The Washington County Crash Analysis Reconstruction Team (CART) responded to the scene and is investigating. Additional information will be available when appropriate.  The school bus is part of the West Linn-Wilsonville school district, and notifications have been made to the families of the two children on the bus. EUGENE SPRINGFIELD FIRE RESPONDS TO SANTA CLARA HOUSE FIRE

Eugene Springfield Fire Eugene Springfield Fire crews were alerted to a house fire on Lea Ave in Eugene’s Santa Clara neighborhood Sunday night.  At 6:10 PM, a caller from Beltline saw what they believed to be flames from a house on Lea Avenue and called 911. As fire apparatus were getting dispatched, a resident of the involved duplex on Lea noticed that smoke was filling the second floor and called 911 as well. ESF crews arrived, identified the location of the fire on the second floor of the home, stretched a hose line to the duplex for fire extinguishment and search for additional occupants. The fire was quickly placed under control before it extended to the attic or unaffected side of the duplex. There were no injuries reported. ESF responded with 3 engines, 2 ladder trucks, 2 chiefs, an ambulance and EMS supervisor.  ESF was aided by Lane Fire Authority. MUSHROOM HUNTER FOUND AND AIRLIFTED TO SAFETY

Sheriff's Office CORVALLIS, Ore.  - In a heartwarming turn of events on Thanksgiving Day, Benton County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) search and rescue teams successfully located a missing male looking for mushrooms off Botkin Road, west of Philomath.  The individual, a 77-year-old male from Corvallis, had been reported missing by a family member at approximately 9:30 pm on Wednesday, November 22.  The search operation, which involved the Benton County Sheriff's Office  Marys Peak Search and Rescue - MPSAR ,  Corvallis Mountain Rescue Unit - CMRU  , and  Region 3 K9 Search & Rescue  were called out to search for the hiker Wednesday night.  Search efforts continued on Thanksgiving Day with additional assistance from  Linn County Sheriff's Office ,  Lane County Sheriff's Office ,  Polk County Sheriff's Office  and the  U.S. Coast Guard .  Searchers located the missing man on Thursday, November 23 at approximately 3:30 pm, down a steep drainage near a creek.
