ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECT ARRESTED
On Saturday, March 29th at 10:48 PM, officers responded to an armed robbery at Dotty’s on SE Tualatin Valley Highway. As officers arrived, the suspect left the location on foot. An employee pointed out the suspect and told officers the suspect had a gun. The suspect ran from the location but was quickly located by responding officers. As officers attempted to take the suspect into custody, he repeatedly stated he wanted officers to kill him, and refused to put his hands up. An officer successfully employed his taser and the suspect was taken into custody without further incident. A realistic-looking black toy pistol was located in one of the suspect’s pockets.
David Jonathan Libemday (41) was arrested for Robbery in the first degree, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Menacing. Officers learned Libemday was also wanted by the U.S. Marshalls on nationwide arrest warrant related to a previous bank robbery.
Libemday was booked and lodged at the Washington County Jail.
