Juvenile Sibling Saved Younger Child From The Home Before Firefighters Arrived

Albany Fire Department Today at 3:42 p.m., Albany Fire responded to a residential fire at Sequoia Estates mobile home park located at 950 Airport Road. The initial call to dispatch reported a child was in the home and possibly trapped.  Albany Fire and Police services responded and found all occupants were safely out of the residence.  Bystanders at the scene reported that a juvenile sibling saved the younger child from the home before firefighters arrived. Albany fire crews evacuated neighboring homes and extinguished the fire by 4:21 p.m.  Fire investigators responded and will be completing an evidence search for cause and origin of the fire.  All Albany firefighters are safe, and no injuries were reported. The Albany FireFighter Community Assistance Fund (AFFCAF) is assisting the family with temporary lodging and money for food.  Red Cross will also be providing assistance in the coming days.

ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECT ARRESTED

Hillsboro Police Department On Saturday, March 29th at 10:48 PM, officers responded to an armed robbery at Dotty’s on SE Tualatin Valley Highway. As officers arrived, the suspect left the location on foot. An employee pointed out the suspect and told officers the suspect had a gun. The suspect ran from the location but was quickly located by responding officers. As officers attempted to take the suspect into custody, he repeatedly stated he wanted officers to kill him, and refused to put his hands up. An officer successfully employed his taser and the suspect was taken into custody without further incident.  A realistic-looking black toy pistol was located in one of the suspect’s pockets.  David Jonathan Libemday (41) was arrested for Robbery in the first degree, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Menacing. VEHICLE PURSUIT IN NEWPORT

Newport Police Department On March 29, 2025 at approximately 0030 hours, a Newport Police Officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Matthew Pearson, 18 of Newport, after observing Pearson driving above the posted speed limit and using unlawful lighting in his green 1996 Toyota Tacoma.   Pearson, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, accelerated away from the officer and turned off his lights, attempting to elude the police officer. The Newport Police Department, with the assistance of the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, pursued Pearson from Newport south on Hwy 101 to Beaver Creek Road. During the pursuit, Pearson made dangerous passes, ran multiple stop signs, drove at speeds in excess of 100mph, drove into oncoming traffic, and even drove up on the sidewalk to drive around a stopped vehicle. Man Arrested After Hit And Run Incidents, Pursuit

Eugene Police Department   At 5:02 p.m. on March 30, two hit and run incidents had been called in regarding a Hyundai Sonata and other callers reported reckless driving.  A Eugene Police officer spotted the vehicle on southbound River Road just north of Horn Lane. He initiated a traffic stop and got out and recognized the driver as 37-year-old Andrew Todd Hampton. The officer had had custody of Hampton for several hours at the hospital after a previous reckless driving incident in February 2025.  As the officer got close on foot, Hampton left the scene and began driving at high speed through the residential neighborhood.  Other officers spotted Hampton at Cornwall and Northwest Expressway. Klamath County Sheriff’s Office Arrests La Pine Woman on 69 Counts of Animal Neglect

Klamath County Sheriff’s Office Klamath County, OR – On March 26, 2025, the Klamath County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) cited and released 65-year-old Christina Cairns of La Pine, OR, on 69 counts of Animal Neglect in the First Degree. The arrest follows an investigation into reports of animal neglect involving numerous dogs on her 10-acre property. KCSO was assisted in this case by the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) and the Humane Society of Central Oregon, which provided medical evaluations and care for the animals. Cairns was cooperative throughout the investigation and voluntarily surrendered her dogs to authorities. The majority of the seized dogs included pit bulls, Neapolitan mastiffs, German shepherds, shepherd/pit bull mixes, shepherd/Rottweiler mixes, and one Cane Corso. While most of the dogs were successfully removed from the property, one dog was found deceased at the scene, and four dogs remain at large. Juveniles Arrested After Shooting Passing Vehicles With Realistic-Looking Airsoft Gun

Eugene Police Department At 9:29 a.m. on March 18, Eugene Police responded to a call regarding two teen boys wearing black and shooting at passing vehicles in the 4th level of the Overpark at 1000 Oak Street.  As multiple officers, detectives, and officers plus a K9 arrived at the location, the teens (age 13 and 14) fled on foot. They were stopped several blocks later and both juveniles resisted but were ultimately taken into custody without incident. One of the teens was in possession of a realistic-looking airsoft gun that had an extended magazine, and a spring-loaded knife.   The 13-year-old male was arrested for Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Criminal Trespass in the Second Degree, Disorderly Conduct in the Second Degree, and Escape in the Third Degree. The 14-year-old male was arrested for Disorderly Conduct in the Second Degree, Escape in the Third Degree, and Criminal Trespass in the Second Degree. They were both lodged at Serbu.  Case 25-04358

Deli Robbery Suspect Arrested In Coos Bay

Eugene Police Department At 9:45 p.m. on March 6, Eugene Police responded to a robbery reported at Richard’s Deli, 3666 W. 11th Avenue. An unknown man had robbed the deli of cash at gunpoint and left.  EPD Property Crimes Unit detectives arrived on scene and took over the investigation. They developed a suspect in the case, Andre Kevin Outland, age 61, of Coos Bay. A detective wrote and applied for a search warrant from a judge, which was granted. Coos Bay Police Department and surrounding agencies on the Oregon coast assisted EPD with the case in Coos Bay. A vehicle associated with Outland was located in Coos Bay. Coos County Metro SWAT attempted to stop the vehicle, but it failed to yield, and a pursuit was initiated. Outland was subsequently stopped and arrested. The Metro SWAT team responded to the residence and secured the scene, and EPD detectives followed up on the search warrant.
