SUSPECT INDICTED ON MEASURE 11 CRIMES, ADDITIONAL VICTIMS SOUGHT

On Monday, October 16th, 2023, a Washington County Grand Jury indicted 24-year-old Mason Dominguez on the following charges:

  • Using Child in Display of Sexually Explicit Conduct 
  • Attempted Using Child in Display of Sexually Explicit Conduct - 2 counts
  • Luring a Minor - 2 counts
  • Tampering with a Witness 

Following the indictment, a Washington County Circuit Court Judge issued a Secret Indictment Arrest Warrant. Dominguez was taken into custody on October 26th, 2023 without incident and is currently being held at the Washington County Jail.

The Sherwood Police Department case has been investigating this case since April of 2023. This case began after a student at Sherwood High School came forward and reported concerning information about Dominguez, a George Fox University student teacher placed at SHS. School Staff and administrators immediately safeguarded students by removing Dominguez from school grounds and notified School Resource Officer Wolfer, who began a criminal investigation. A second victim came forward with concerning information about Dominguez. Over the last several months, multiple interviews were conducted, and several search warrants were executed. During the investigation, George Fox University placed Dominguez on leave, removed him from campus, and his teaching credentials were held pending the outcome of this investigation. The Washington County District Attorney’s Office presented the evidence to a Grand Jury and the Grand Jury Indicted Dominguez for the above crimes. 

Multiple victims have been identified to date; however, it is believed there may be additional victims and witness to these crimes.
