Hit and Run Suspect Apprehended After Over a Month
On September 12th, 2023, around 7:05 pm, Deputy Z. Smith and Sgt. S. Moore responded to a vehicle vs. motorcycle crash at the intersection of Flanagan and Bay Park Lane in Coos Bay. The motorcycle operator, Tony Edwards, fled the scene upon learning that the police were on their way. It was discovered that Tony was not the motorcycle's owner, and his driving status was suspended due to a violation. Deputies later found the vehicle at Tony's residence, but he refused to come out, and his family denied his presence.
On October 22nd, 2023, around 6:54 am, Deputy Z. Smith spotted Tony on the property and arrested him for Hit & Run - Property Damage. Tony was taken to Coos County Jail, where he was booked.
