NATURAL COVER IN THE GREEN DISTRICT

Douglas Co. Fire Dist. No.2

At 12:19 PM Thursday, June 15^th Douglas County Fire District No.2 and Winston-Dillard fire district responded to a reported field on fire near Little Valley road in the Green District. Multiple callers reported the fire was in a grass field and moving up the hill.

The first arriving fire crew confirmed the initial reports and found a riding lawn mower also on fire. Crews made an aggressive attack and kept the fire to approximately one acre in size. 

The fire was started by the mowing of dried grass, by the property caretaker.

DCFD No.2 responded with 1 fire engine, 1 Brush unit, 1 Water tender, and 1 Command vehicle. WDFD responded with 1 Brush unit. Douglas County Fire District No.2 was also assisted by DCSO, and DFPA.
