FATAL CRASH - HWY-569 - LANE COUNTY
On Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at approximately 6:03 P.M., the Oregon State Police responded to a single vehicle crash on Hwy-569, near milepost 6.5, in Lane County.
The preliminary investigation indicated a Harley Davidson motorcycle, operated by Harlin Adair Grondsdahl (63) of Veneta, was merging onto the westbound lanes of Hwy-569 from Hwy 99, when it sideswiped the guardrail. The operator was thrown against the guardrail and support posts during the crash.
Emergency medical aid was provided by other motorists and first responders, however the operator was declared deceased at the scene.
The on-ramp was impacted for approximately 3.5 hours during the on-scene investigation.
OSP was assisted by the Lane County Sheriff's Office, the Lane Fire Authority, and ODOT.
