71 pigs, 16 goats seized from Terrebonne ranch as a result of livestock neglect investigation

On January 20^th and 21st, 2023, deputies with the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant in the 5000 block of 10^th Street, Terrebonne, Oregon. Deputies received information of possible animal neglect involving livestock, to include Kune Kune pigs, Guinea hogs, and dairy and meat goats.

During the course of the investigation deputies determined the livestock located on the approximate 17-acre ranch were in dire need of intervention, namely veterinarian care, and proper feed. Over the course of two days, 71 pigs, and 16 goats were removed from the property and transported to the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office Rescue Ranch.

The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office Rescue Ranch is 23 acres and serves as a rehabilitation center for neglected, abandoned, and abused livestock. The livestock seized as a result of this investigation are receiving veterinarian care, and appropriate feed.

Evans was issued a citation in lieu of custody for Animal Neglect in the Second Degree. The case is also being forwarded to the Deschutes County District Attorney’s Office for review.
