Detectives Investigating Suspicious Death in White City

Update 7/29/22: JCSO detectives are continuing their investigation.  At this time the death appears to be non-criminal, and there is no evidence of homicide. The autopsy has been completed and further studies are pending, including toxicology reports. Next of kin has been notified, the decedent is Barbara Jane Esqueda, 50, of White City. There is no further information available for release.

Original Release 7/26/22: WHITE CITY, Ore. - Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) detectives are investigating a suspicious death in the Dollar Tree parking lot on the 7300 block of Crater Lake Highway in White City. This case is active and ongoing with detectives working additional leads. Cause of death is pending an autopsy by an Oregon State Police forensic pathologist. The name of the decedent will be released pending notification of next of kin. There is no further information available at this time.
