NATURAL GAS LEAK - 555 SE KANE STREET

At 10:04 a.m. on January 28, 2022, Roseburg Fire Department personnel responded to a reported natural gas line rupture and a significant leak of natural gas at 555 SE Kane Street. Upon arrival on scene, firefighters determined a ¾ inch natural gas line had been damaged by construction equipment.
Firefighters coordinated evacuations and shelter in place for a four to six block radius of the above listed address as Avista / Michels Utility Services worked to cap the damaged line. Fire department personnel also provided traffic control as traffic was routed around the area. The line was capped safely at 11:07 a.m. and occupants were allowed to return to normal business operations.
