A DRIVER OF STOLEN TRUCK CRASHES INTO A TREE AFTER HITTING TWO POLICE CARS
Washington Co. Sheriff's Office
On Wednesday, December 23, 2021, 3:09 a.m., Washington County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a hit-and-run crash in the 16,000 block of NW Brugger Road in the Enhanced Sheriff's Patrol District (ESPD) community of Bethany. Deputies learned a community member saw someone attempting to free their Ford F-150 truck that was stuck in a field. As the community member tried to help, the F-150 became free. The driver of the F-150 backed into the community member’s car and left the scene.
A deputy located the F-150 in the Tanasbourne area of the city of Hillsboro. The deputy saw the truck driving recklessly by running a red light and driving into oncoming lanes of traffic. The deputy activated their overhead lights and siren to stop the F-150, but the truck continued to accelerate at a high rate of speed in an attempt to elude the deputy. The deputy did not pursue the F-150.
A short time later, a Hillsboro Police Officer located the F-150 entering Highway 26 eastbound from the NE Cornelius Pass Road on ramp. Hillsboro officers and Sheriff's deputies followed the F-150 at a distance until it exited the highway at NW Barnes Road and went into a parking lot near Providence St. Vincent's Hospital.
The F-150 exited the parking lot onto NW Barnes Road and hit a Beaverton Police vehicle. The Beaverton Officer in that vehicle stated that the driver of the F-150 intentionally hit him. The collision caused minor damage to the vehicle. The Beaverton officer was not injured.
Deputies and Hillsboro Officers again tried to stop the F-150 by activating their overhead lights and sirens, but the F-150 did not stop. The F-150 eventually turned into a hotel located at 15042 NW Cornell Road. As the truck was driving through the parking lot, it made a turn and began to fishtail. The driver lost control, side swiped a Hillsboro Police car, and crashed into a tree. The Hillsboro Officer, whose car was side swiped, was not injured.
The driver, 35-year-old Anthony DeHerrera, was taken into custody without incident. Deputies determined the truck was stolen and believed DeHerrera was under the influence of narcotics. DeHerrera was transported to a local hospital for precautionary reasons and later lodged in the Washington County Jail for the following crimes:
- Attempted assault in the second degree
- Reckless driving
- Fleeing or attempting to elude police officer (Felony)
- Recklessly endangering another person

Seems like a lot of hispanic names on here lately for violence and rape. Thank you Gov. Flush it Down Brown for making Oregon a sanctuary state.
