Myrtle Creek Police Department On November 27, 2021, at about 1:30 AM, Bonnie Jo Short, 77, of Myrtle Creek, left her residence and hasn’t been heard from since. Bonnie was driving a silver 2015 Ford Escape bearing Oregon license plate 900MLJ. Bonnie is about 5’4” tall and weighs around 110 pounds. Bonnie has grey hair and brown eyes. Bonnie was last seen wearing blue slacks, a grey and black striped sweatshirt, black boots and a grey robe. The last known location and direction of travel for Bonnie’s vehicle was eastbound on Riverside Drive heading towards South Myrtle Road. Myrtle Creek Police, along with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and Douglas County Search and Rescue have been focusing the search out South Myrtle Road. As of 6:00 PM, neither Bonnie or her vehicle have been located. Gresham Police Dept Gresham, Ore.— At approximately 8:43 p.m. on Nov. 29, Gresham Police responded to a death investigation call at Pat Pfeifer Park located at 424 NE 172nd Ave. Medical personnel and officers arrived, finding 24-year-old Jose Juan Santos-Elias, of Portland, suffering from a gunshot wound. The medical examiner’s office determined Jose died as a result of being shot and has ruled the death a homicide. The East County Major Crimes Team is leading the investigation and there have been no arrests made in this case yet. Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances of the shooting and are asking for any additional witnesses to please call the Gresham Police tip line at 503-618-2719 or toll free at 888-989-3505. No other information is available at this time.

Lane Co. Sheriff's Office *UPDATE* 11/26/21 7:20PM The Lane County Sheriff’s Office has identified 40 year old Robert Gavin Bowers as a person of interest in yesterday’s stabbing assault in the South Jetty area south of Florence. Bowers is likely homeless and most commonly travels by foot. Bowers could be armed and should not be approached. The Sheriff’s Office would like to remind the public to refrain from picking up hitchhikers and to report suspicious activity to law enforcement. Anyone with information regarding Bowers’ whereabouts is asked to call 911.

FATAL CRASH ON HWY 101-LINCOLN COUNTY

Oregon State Police On Sunday, November 21, 2021 at approximately 6:23 PM, Oregon State Police and emergency personnel responded to a report of a two-vehicle head-on collision on Highway 101 near milepost 152. Preliminary investigation revealed a southbound Toyota Corolla, operated by Michael Noel (59) of Waldport, crossed over the centerline and crashed head-on with a northbound Mercedes GLK SUV, operated by Lorrie Ann Owens (54) of Waldport. The Mercedes rolled into a roadside ditch, entrapping Owens and her passenger Norma Parry (78) of Waldport. Noel sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Owens and Parry were extricated and transported to Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital with injuries. Hwy 101 was detoured for approximately five hours. OSP was assisted by Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Seal Rock Fire and Rescue, Central Lincoln Fire Department and ODOT Incident Response.

Oregon State Police On November 20, 2021, at approximately 930 A.M., Fish & Wildlife Trooper responded to Pair A Dice Ranch Rd in Jacksonville, OR on a report of a poached buck. The Trooper located the buck, which had appeared to have fallen a considerable distance from a ridge, before crossing the road leaving a large blood trail. The Trooper located an access point and hiked to the location where the buck had fallen. There was a quarter-mile blood trail before the ridge that appears to have begun in perfect view of the roadway and where a vehicle made a sudden stop angling toward the buck. No bullet or casings were located. The buck had a large mortal wound on its right side. The Oregon State Police is requesting public assistance with information about this case.
