Christopher Wilcox & the vehicle have been located. There is no further threat to the community.

Earlier this morning, Christopher Wilcox and the involved vehicle, were located in a rural area, east of Springfield.  He was found deceased of an, apparent, self-inflicted gunshot wound.  SPD Detectives are continuing the homicide investigation at the scene.  

At this time, SPD is releasing the identity of the Homicide victim.  He is 17-year-old Spencer Wilcox, the son of Christopher Wilcox.  Preliminary investigation revealed that Christopher and Spencer were involved in a verbal dispute when Christopher shot and killed Spencer with a handgun.
