LOGGING ACCIDENT

Josephine Co. Sheriff's Office

On 7/13/2020 at 10:56am the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office received information of a logging accident in a remote area of West Picket Creek in Josephine County. 

Rural Metro Fire, AMR and the Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and located a male subject deceased, approximately 800 feet down the mountain.  The information gathered at the scene indicated, the subject, Cody Anderson, had been struck by a rolling log which he was cutting with a chain saw.  

With the assistance of the logging crew and the above agencies, Anderson’s body was recovered and released to the funeral home.

Next of kin has been notified.
