Fatal RV Fire In Green
Douglas Co. Fire Dist. No.2
At 12:26 p.m. Friday afternoon Douglas County Fire District No.2 and Winston-Dillard Fire District was dispatched to a reported structure fire on Grange Road in the Green district. Both departments arrived on scene at the same time due to their close proximity and found an older motorhome with the front half fully involved with fire. Crews were able to knock down the fire with an initial attack using a single hose line preventing spread to other nearby trailers.
Reporting party was unsure if the owner was home at the time of the fire and after a search by firefighters a victim was located deceased inside the RV. The fire investigation performed by the
Oregon State Fire Marshal’s office determined the fire to be accidental.
DCFD2 and WDFD responded to this incident with 2 fire engines and 1 command unit with a total of 8 personnel. Crews were assisted by DCSO, Winston PD and the Oregon State Fire Marshal’s Office.
