TELEPHONE SERVICE OUTAGE AFFECTING 911

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ore. - A CenturyLink telephone service outage is affecting approximately 674 customers in the Drain and Yoncalla areas. The outage may prevent residents in those areas from dialing 9-1-1 from their landline telephones.
CenturyLink is currently investigating the cause of the outage. There is no estimated time of repair at this time.
Residents who are affected may be able to dial 9-1-1 from a cellular device in the event of an emergency if they are unable to reach 9-1-1 on their landline. Both North Douglas Fire & EMS fire stations in Drain and Yoncalla are also staffed with personnel while the issue is being resolved.
Residents wishing to check on the status of the telephone service should contact CenturyLink as the 9-1-1 dispatch center is unable to provide further information regarding the outage.
