19-year-old Newport resident arrested for sex abuse of 11 year

An investigation was conducted and the victim was able to identify the suspect as 19-year-old Caleb Colgan of Newport.
Colgan was interviewed at his residence in Newport on December 10th and confirmed that the sexual assault occurred. Colgan was arrested and lodged at the Lincoln County Jail.
On December 17th, Colgan was indicted by the Lincoln County Grand Jury on charges of:
Rape 1
Sex Abuse 1 x3
Sodomy 1 x2
Strangulation x2
Unlawful Sexual Penetration I x2
Luring a Minor
During the investigation, Detective’s learned Colgan may have had contact with additional juveniles. If anyone knows of inappropriate contact with Colgan, please contact Det. Mitch France at the Newport Police Department.
