The Portland Police Bureau and Portland Fire & Rescue, in partnership with Crime Stoppers of Oregon, is asking for the public's help to identify the suspect who started a fire at a Northwest Portland apartment complex.
On May 19, 2019, at approximately 4:30 p.m., an unknown suspect started a fire in the stairwell of a Northwest Portland apartment complex. Investigators do not believe that the suspect was a tenant but may have been a visitor. The suspect set fire to an item of clothing in the stairwell. There were no injuries as a result of the fire.
Surveillance images show that the suspect is a Black male, wearing a green shirt, black pants, a white baseball hat with the word "Worldwide" on the front, wearing over-the-ear headphones. The suspect also appears to have tattoos or scars on his upper right arm.
Crime Stoppers of Oregon offers cash rewards of up to $2,500 cash for information, reported to Crime Stoppers, that leads to an arrest in any unsolved felony crime and tipsters can remain anonymous.
