The Oregon City Police Department arrested two suspects for armed robbery

Last night, at about 9:15 pm, officers were dispatched to an armed robbery at Rite Aid located inside the Oregon City Shopping Center, 1900 McLoughlin Blvd. A male, later identified as 21-year-old Austin Keever-Nyberg walked to the pharmacy counter, was armed with a knife and jumped the counter. He ordered employee’s to the ground and then went to the back of the pharmacy where he stole medication and then fled the store. As he exited the store, Mr. Keever-Nyberg threatened another employee with the knife. Mr. Keever-Nyberg then fled on foot toward Main Street. No employee's were injured.
Responding officers set up a perimeter and a K-9 search was started. Mr. Keever-Nyberg returned to the shopping center and ran to a vehicle that was parked in the parking lot. This vehicle was driven by 19-year-old Jacob Petersen. Mr. Petersen attempted to leave the shopping center in his vehicle but officers were able to use a Pursuit Prevention Technique and Pinned the vehicle. Officers took both Mr. Keever-Nyberg and Mr. Petersen into custody without incident. The medication and knife were recovered.
Mr. Keever-Nyberg was arrested for Robbery I, Coercion, Menacing, and Unlawful use of a weapon. He was lodged at the Clackamas County Jail on $272,500 bail.
Mr. Petersen was arrested for Robbery I. He was lodged at the Clackamas County Jail on $250,000 bail.
The Oregon City Police were assisted by the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office and the Gladstone Police Department.
